IATF places more areas under Alert Level 1
The government's pandemic task force has decided to place more areas under Alert Level 1 -- the least strict among all alert level classifications -- despite the threat of a surge in Covid-19 cases after the elections, Malacañang said on May 2.
Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said in a statement that the Inter-agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases approved the recommendations of the sub-Technical Working Group for Data Analytics to place Nueva Vizcaya and Misamis Occidental under Alert Level 1 from May 3 to 15, 2022.
The following component cities and municipalities shall likewise be placed under Alert Level 1:
- Region VII: Talisay City, Cebu
- Region XII: Antipas, North Cotabato, and Banga, South Cotabato
On April 29, the IATF decided to keep Metro Manila and many other areas under Alert Level 1 from May 1 to 15, 2022.
Meanwhile, 44 provinces, highly urbanized cities (HUCs), and independent component cities (ICCs) are under Alert Level 2.
