Robredo, who is set to attend a Labor Day event organized by the Alliance of Labor Leaders for Leni (ALL4Leni) and Workers for Leni at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City, invited all Filipinos to step forward to a “brighter” future.

“Maisasakatuparan natin ang mga dakilang layuning ito kung ilalagay natin ang kapakanan ng manggagawa sa puso ng ating pamamahala (We will make true these goals if we will put the welfare of the workers in the heart of the government),” she said in a statement.

“Sa pagsusulong ng makatwirang pagpapasahod, proteksiyon sa pang-aabuso, at pagbaklas sa mga luma at bulok na kalakaran, matatanggal natin ang mga sagabal sa ating tuloy-tuloy na kaunlaran (In pushing for just ages, protection against abuse, and elimination of the old and rotten system, we will remove the obstacle to our continued progress),” Robredo added.

A brighter tomorrow for the Philippines would mean Filipinos are free from hunger, violence, and corruption.

“Walang Pilipinong naiiwan (No Filipino left behind),” she said.

In the statement, the Vice President, who already promised to make the Security of Tenure bill a priority legislation if she wins on May 9, said she is one with the Filipinos in celebrating the dignity of the ordinary workers and their contributions to the Filipino community.

“Alalahanin natin na ang sinumang naghahanap-buhay nang buong puso at katapatan ay nag-aambag hindi lang sa ekonomiya, kundi pati sa pag-abot ng mga pangarap, pagpapatibay ng kapayapaan at katatagan sa mga komunidad, at pagpapalakas sa mga nasa laylayan (Let us remember that anyone who works wholeheartedly and truthfully contributes not only to the economy, but in reaching the dreams, reinforcing peace and stability of the community, and strengthening those in the fringes),” she added.
