The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has received more than 9,105 local absentee voting accomplished ballots as of Sunday, May 1.
The partial report on the number of LAV accomplished ballots received by the Reception and Custody Units are as follows:
Philippine Army (926), Philippine Air Force (1,731), Philippine Navy (0), Philippine National Police (3,929) DepEd (522), BJMP (510), BFP (15), Media (809), Comelec (586), DILG (3) PCG (73), and DFA (1).
The Comelec earlier set local absentee voting for the May 2022 polls from April 27 to 29.
Under the LAV, government officials and employees; personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police; as well as members of the media, including their technical and support staff, are allowed to avail of local absentee voting.
This is as long as they are duly registered voters, whose registration records are not deactivated; and will be temporarily assigned to perform election duties or to cover and report on the conduct of elections in places where they are not registered voters.
