Kelra, Ch4knu show way as Omega sends Onic PH crashing in MPL playoffs

Duane “Kelra” Pillas and Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog provided the one-two punch as Omega Esports sent Onic Philippines packing with neat 3-0 sweep in their lower bracket match in the MPL Philippines Season 9 playoffs at the SMX Convention Center on Saturday, April 30.

Omega proved that the lower bracket is its favorite battlefield as the MSC kings showed up and clobbered Onic in three-game sweep to reach the lower bracket finals.

It will face the losers of the upper bracket finals match between RSG Philippines and TNC Pro Team set later in the day.

It was actually Onic which controlled the opening minutes of the first game with Kairi securing five early kills on his signature Lancelot pick. He even scored a steal in the first Lord fight but Omega made them pay with a four-man wipe.

Onic’s game spiraled down from that point as Omega went for an uncontested Luminous Lord in the ensuing plays. A clutch Tyrant’s Rage-tyran’s Revenge combo from Ch4knu’s signature Khufra which caught both Markyy and Hatred sealed the deal for Omega

Riding the crest of the Game 1 win, Omega utterly destroyed Onic in the second game as Kelra ran wild on his Beatrix with a perfect 7-0-0 line highlighted by a huge triple kill during a clash near midlane at the 13-minute mark.

Omega then secured the Lord to close out Game 2 and take a commanding 2-0 lead against the M3 runner-up. Ch4knu provided the threat all-game long bothering Kairi on his jungle and landing crucial hooks on Onic players to finish with an efficient 0-2-6 line on the Franco.

Onic threw its own punches in the onset of Game 3 with a 4-1 kill lead but a clash at the four-minute mark in the top lane turned the tides to Omega’s favor as it scored a four-man wipe against the last season’s runners-up.

Omega steamrolled from that point as Kelra shone on the Beatrix anew with a 11-2-1 KDA wgike Ch4knu and E2max providing support with 01-8 and 2-2-9 lines respectively.
