
CAMP MARCELO A ADDURU, Tuguegarao City – Authorities identified the cadaver of a former member of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) on Saturday, April 30, three days after its recovery in Sitio Liaga Barangay Mabuno, Gattaran, Cagayan.
Police revealed that Mary Grace Bautista or alias “Sinag” was also involved in the encounter between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and New People’s Army (NPA) in Mabuno, Gattaran, Cagayan sometime in August 2020.
Bautista was the wife of Edgar Bautista alias “Simoy” who was a former member of Komprob Cagayan.
It was also found that "Sinag" was listed in the ‘Most Wanted Persons’ under the DILG Memorandum Circulars.
“May patong na P175,000 si Sinag for the case of murder, multiple attempted murder and robbery whose arrest warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court 2nd Judicial Region, Branch 18, Ilagan, Isabela.,” the PNP said.
Bautista's remains are in a funeral home in Gattaran and will be brought to the town of Gamu, Isabela where he will be laid to rest.
The said operation was led by the 204th Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 2 (RMFB 2) in cooperation with Special Action Force (SAF); 2nd Platoon of the 2nd Cagayan Provincial Mobile Force Company; Cagayan Provincial Forensic Unit; Gattaran Police Station; Regional Intelligence Division 2; Alpha Company, 77th Infantry Battalion; 51st Military Intelligence Company; and Regional Group on Special Concerns (RGSC).
