Sandro Marcos leads in voter preference for 1st district solon of Ilocos Norte


LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte - - Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, son of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is leading in voter preference for the first district congressional seat of Ilocos Norte, based on a survey conducted by independent group RP-Mission and Development Foundation (RPMD).

In the RPMD’s survey conducted from April 17-22, 2022 with 1,000 registered voter-respondents, Sandro Marcos got a 62-percent voter preference as compared to the 36-percent voter preference earned by his rival incumbent Congresswoman Ria Christina Fariñas. Two percent of the respondents remained undecided.

Fariñas - daughter of veteran politician and former congressman Rodolfo Fariñas - is the current representative of the province's first district.

Based on the latest RPMD’s survey result, it showed that the voter preference for Marcos is 26 percent better compared to Fariñas.

The survey also showed that voter preference for Marcos continued to increase leading to the May 9 polls. He posted a huge improvement from the 53-percent voter preference he got from the RFMD’s survey conducted on April 3 to 8.

The survey was made independently without commission, using a random sampling in the first district of Ilocos Norte with a 3% (+/-) margin of error.
