KID NO MORE! Lianne Valentin on coming out of her shell

At 20 years old, Kapuso star Lianne Valentin is up to challenge herself as an actress accepting daring roles.

For her first-ever starring project, Lianne will be playing the role of Stella in "Apoy Sa Langit."

The character will mess up the lives of Cesar (Zoren Legaspi), Gemma (Maricel Laxa), and Ning (Mikee Quintos).

Note that the advocacy-driven series showcases an unusual story of betrayal involving money and family affairs.

There, Stella will pretend to be Cesar's daughter but she's actually the latter's other woman.

During the press conference for their show, Lianne was asked what made her accept such role.

According to her, starting her showbiz career a decade ago as host of children's show "Tropang Potchi," then receiving offers mostly for supporting roles are what pushed her.

So after her stint on last year's "Ang Dalawang Ikaw" starring Ken Chan and Rita Daniela, Lianne decided that she wants to "step up" her game.

"I wanna have growth sa career ko. Gusto ko mag-try ng new things. I really want to be challenge sa susunod ko na show," she said.

So when she received an offer for her to audition, Lianne immediately said yes.

"Hindi ako nagdalawang isip. This is what I want, what I look forward... This is what I want na-i-commit sa growth ng career ko," she related.

But how did her family react to her steamy scenes with Zoren?

Well, her mom was supportive.

"Hindi kasi ako ganun ka open with my mom when it comes to work. Hinihintay niya na ako yung mag open up bago siya magsalita. Pero nung sinabi ko mag audition ako, sinabi ko na yung role ko, unang tanong niya sa akin: 'Gusto mo ba, ready ka ba? Kasi once nag-'oo' ka dyan, once na nag-commit ka dyan kahit auditon pa lang, wala ng atrasan.'"

Of course, she assured her mother that she's ready to come out of her shell.

According to Lianne, her mom even congratulated her when she finally got the role; reiterating her support.

In terms of Zoren as her love interest, Lianne has nothing but good words.

She deemed the seasoned star very "professional."

Lianne maintained Zoren is "kind" and "generous."

In terms of her giving justice to her character, Lianne said she's the type who just go with the flow.

Though she shared that prior she used to feel nervous and overthink, going on to hinder her acting.

"Di nalalabas yung totoong emotion," was how she put it. "So kailangan mo lang maging open and available at magpadala dun sa emosyon mo."

In fact, Lianne admitted she's her worst critic.

If before she doesn't watch her performances, now she has this conscious effort to do so.

She said that as time go by she realize that she really need to watch her scenes so she will know what's there to improve.

Lianne revealed that way back, she was so conscious of her looks on television particularly during crying scenes.

But now, she just "jump and commit."

"I just commit to the character and sa obligations na kailangan sa eksena na yun."

"Apoy Sa Langit" will start airing on GMA Afternoon Prime this May 2.
