Fellow vice presidential candidate Rizalito David said he is supporting Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III's vice presidential bid and has described him as the best man for the job.

According to David, ‘’has contributed a lot to the Catholic Church by opposing the passage of laws allowing same-sex marriage, divorce and abortion.’’

‘’To me, that is the most important kasi (because) he loves life. He is pro-life. He listens to his family. He listens to his wife. Gentleman. Family man,’’ David said in an interview on CNN Philippines.

‘’Sa akin, kumbaga sa grupo namin na tumatakbo ngayon, siya ang may pinakamagandang record na data tulungan (To me, among us running for the vice presidency, he (Sotto) has the best record that needs the people’s support),’’ he said.

David made the announcement in an interview over CNN Philippines' The Source. However, he said, he is not withdrawing from the VP race.

Last month, David said he is willing to back out of the vice president race and endorse Sotto in order to help him beat Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, who is also running for the second highest elective post in the country.

David also said he is willing to support presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo to beat former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.

Marcos and Duterte are running in tandem, while Sotto is running in tandem with presidential candidate Sen. Panfilo "Ping" Lacson.
