Comelec Commissioner George Garcia announced this information to the media on Wednesday, April 27.

"We will destroy the defective ballots on May 7 at the National Printing Office in the presence of everyone," he said.

Last week, the poll body reported that 372,878 of the 67.4 million ballots printed were found to be defective.

In a statement, Garcia said the defective ballots, which is 0.58 percent of the total ballots, will be reprinted.

"We will just complete the reprinting and the printing of other forms then its up for destruction. We will issue a notice," he said on April 22.

It was on April 2 when the Comelec finished the printing of the official ballots for the May 2022 polls at the NPO Office in Quezon City.
