“It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing on Saturday, April 23, 2022, of Fila Philippines CEO and owner, Ms. Cris Albert,” the brand posted, “Her family appeals to everyone to respect their privacy as they grieve in this time of immense loss.”

Even before she became part of the sports footwear brand in 1992, Cris lived a life surrounded by fashion. She grew up watching her mother Wanda Louwallien on runway shows at a young age. And soon enough, she became a model, too, appearing in numerous ads and campaigns. After having great exposure to the fashion industry, she then pursued a career in marketing and management.

According to Fila Philippines’ website, Cris gained numerous accolades for her works in fashion and philanthropy, which include an Ayala merchants award (2006), a Dangal ng Bayan award for product and service excellence (2008), and a Woman of Substance recognition (2021).

Rest in peace, Cris Albert.
