Comelec partners with CHED for voter ed

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Thursday, April 21, signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to promote voter education and information in Higher Education Institutions.

Held at the Comelec office in Intramuros, Manila, the signing was attended by Comelec Executive Director Bartolome Sinocruz Jr, and CHED officials

Cinderella Filipina Benitez-Jaro and Julieta Paras.

"Comelec welcomes the partnership with CHED. Without doubt this partnership would tremendously enhance the voter education capability of the Comelec," said Sinocruz.

He said the partnership will also help increase the voter turnout in the May 2022 polls as well as the understanding of voters on how the election processes are being conducted.

Jaro also expressed hope that their partnership will help increase voter turnout in the upcoming polls.

"Today we will strengthen our advocacy to promote voter education. By doing so, we hope to increase voter turnout and consequently strenghten democracy in the country," she said.

"We hope that our joint venture with the Comelec in advocating voter educatio be fruitful for the future," added Jaro.
