BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said Lindner Hans Dieter, 76, who is now in the bureau’s custody following his arrest on Monday in Barangay Parada, Valenzuela City.
Operatives from the BI’s fugitive search unit (FSU) arrested the German on the strength of a warrant of deportation issued by the BI.
“We will immediately send him out of the country, as it has already been proven that he is an undesirable alien due to his crimes," the BI chief said.
A check of the BI's records revealed that Dieter has already been overstaying in the Philippines, having arrived on Nov. 2, 2016.
German authorities said Dieter is subject of an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the public prosecutor's office in Heidelberg, Germany on Oct. 20, 2020.
Dieter was convicted by the said court in November 2013 after being found guilty for banking and financial fraud and delayed filing of insolvency and bankruptcy declaration.
