Criticisms from #WithdrawLeni call an example of 'social injustice' — Mayor Isko
By Jaleen Ramos
Presidential candidate and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Monday, April 18, said the criticisms he got for his call on Vice President Leni Robredo to withdraw from the presidential race is an example of “social injustice.”

“It’s an honest call... Sa totoo lang, ‘yan ang daing ng ordinaryong Pilipino. Kapag malaking tao ang nambu-bully, okay lang. Pag ang ordinaryong tao, nangatwiran, bastos o masama na (Honestly, that is the cry of the ordinary Filipino. When big people are the ones bullying, it's okay. When an ordinary person tries to speak out, they are rude or bad),” Domagoso said in an ambush interview.
“Alam mo, mapapansin mo yung hinaing ng tao, parang yung there is social injustice. Parang ang may karapatan lang magsalita yong malalaking tao o matataas na katungkulan. Pag ordinaryong tao parang wala kang karapatang magsabi ng totoo o mangatwiran (You know, you will notice people's grievances as if there is social injustice. It seems that only the big people or those in high positions have the right to speak. As an ordinary person, you don't seem to have the right to tell the truth or argue),” he added.
Domagoso also maintained he just did what his rival did to him, saying it was just a “fair” call.
The camp of Domagoso has been repeatedly rejecting the calls for “unity talks” which pushes a candidate to withdraw to support the bet who could win against former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
“It’s just a fair call. Kung ano ang sinabi nila dati, narinig din nila sa sarili nila (What they had said before, they also heard it themselves) Nothing unusual,” he noted.
“My question is: ano ang karapatan mo na hingin sa amin, bilang ikaw ay kakompetensya namin, na withdraw? Ano ang karapatan mo? Dahil ikaw ay mataas na tao, at itong mga tao sa ibang kandidato, hindi ganun kalaki ang political alliances? (what right do you have to ask us, as your competitor, to withdraw? What is your right? Because you are someone in high office, and these other candidates, their political alliances are not that big?),” he stressed.
In a joint press conference on Sunday, April 17, Domagoso had asked Robredo to "make the supreme sacrifice" and "withdraw" from the presidential race.
Domagoso, along with three other presidential candidates — Sen. Panfilo Lacson, former defense secretary Norberto Gonzalez, and Sen. Manny Pacquiao — also vowed that they will push through with their respective candidacies and campaigns until election day.
