Cadet from Iloilo tops this year's PNPA graduates


A native of Passi City in Iloilo is this year's class valedictorian of the 226-strong graduating cadets of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).

Cadet 1st Class Ernie Alarba Padernilla will also receive the Presidential Kampilan award for topping the class, the Chief PNP Kamplian award for being the top cadet to enter the police service, Best Forensic Science Award and Best in Thesis Award.

It was learned that Padernilla graduated magna cum laude at the Passi City College for a BS Criminology course before he entered the PNP Academy.

Cadet 1st Class Regina Joy Belmi Caguioa from Taguig City is the class salutatorian and will receive the Vice Presidential Kampilan award while Cadet 1st Class Precious Shermaine Domingo Lee from San Juan City ranked third and will receive the Secretary of Interior and Local Government Kampilan Award and the Best in Public Safety Award.

Cadet 1st Class Fidel Elona Triste III from Palo Leyte is Top 4 while Cadet 1st Class Geneva Limjuco Flores from San Carlos City in Pangasinan ranked number 5. Cadet 1st Class Zoe Compleza Seloterio from Santa Barbara, Iloilo is Top 6 and will be the recipient of the Athletic Kampilan Award.

All the top six cadets will join the PNP.

Cadet 1st Class Neil Winston Navalta from Diffun, Quirino ranked number 7 and will receive the Chief Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Kampilan as he is the top cadet who chose to be a firefighter.

The Class number 9 cadet, Collyn Mae Dimazana Panganiban from Antipolo, Rizal, will be receiving the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology BJMP Kampilan award.

The two other cadets in the top ten, number 8 graduate Cadets Mhar Dum-Ayan Viloria from Pugo La Union, and number 10 Alyssa Angalan Bantasan from Bauko, Mountain Province will also join the PNP.

of the 226 graduating PNP cadets, 198 of them are male and 28 are female. They were presented to PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos on Monday, April 18.

The graduation ceremony is on Thursday, April 21 at the PNPA campus in Silang, Cavite, and is expected to be graced by President Duterte.
