The Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported on Sunday, April 17, smooth and unhampered operations during the Holy Week at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and other ports.
BI port operations chief Carlos Capulong said there was a slight rise of passenger arrivals during Good Friday and Black Saturday.
"There were a total of 13,783 passengers who arrived on Friday, and 15,234 the following day," Capulong said, adding that the figures were slightly higher from the usual 11,000 to 12,000 daily arrivals the past days.
He also said that they processed an average of around 12,000 departing passengers at international airports nationwide the past week.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente earlier placed frontline immigration officers on high alert following the anticipated increase in travelers during the Holy Week.
