An unidentified teenager died after he was run over by a Philippine National Railways (PNR) train at the corner of Antipolo and Ipil Streets in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Tuesday, April 12.
Police investigators are establishing the identity of the victim described as about nine to 12 years old, around 3’4’’ tall, and wearing a black t-shirt and blue pajamas.
According to the Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit (MDTEU), the incident was witnessed by an 11-year-old boy who was playing in the area at around 2:45 p.m.
Arjay Barlaan, the driver of the train with body number DEL 921, is now under investigation, the police said.
The victim’s mangled body was brought to the Cruz Funeral Morgue. (Terence Ranis)
