Batangas gov Mandanas endorses Eleazar for senator

Bartangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas has endorsed the candidacy of former national police chief Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar for senator in the May 9 elections.

“I have witnessed how General Eleazar worked hard in ensuring peace and order here in Batangas when he became the regional director of Calabarzon. Her was very hands on and dedicated to his job and I am confident that he would be able to perform the mandate for a position he is running for," said Mandanas.

Eleazar worked with Mandanas when he was the head of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Batangas and when he was the director of the Police Regional Office 4A.

Aside from his work ethics, Mandanas has all the reasons to support Eleazar.

Eleazar is the only senatorial candidate from Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Querzon) region. He is a native of Tagkawayan town of Quezon.

His mother, Victoria Tolentino Eleazar, hails from Sto. Tomas town, while his wife, Rosalie “Lally” Hernandez Eleazar, is a native of Batangas City.

Almost half of Eleazar’s career as a police officer was spent in Batangas and in the entire Calabarzon.

After he graduated at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Hinirang” Class in 1987, his first assignment was in Southern Tagalog Region when Calabarzon and Mimaropa were not yet split into half.

In 2018, Eleazar was designated as the regional director of the Calabarzon Police Regional Office (PRO-4A) after a two-year stint at the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).

There, he led the dismantling of various crime syndicates in a span of two months after which, he was immediately promoted as the regional director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) before eventually making it to the PNP Command Group.
