Salipada was arrested by the Taguig police’s intelligence operatives during an anti-criminality operation along Datu Al Street, Purok-7, Barangay Napindan.

The police saw the suspect armed with a “balisong,” measuring about nine inches in length, that led to his arrest.

During a search, the police confiscated from him three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 77 grams with a value of P523,000, and several IDs including a barangay ID, barangay volunteer riders and driver’s license.

The police will file charges of violations of Batas Pambansa Bilang 6 (illegal possession of a deadly weapon), Omnibus Election Code and Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) against the suspect.

“The successful arrest of the suspect is an indication that the intensified anti-criminality operation is an effective strategy to prevent lawlessness. We assure you that we will maintain our vigilance in anti-crime drive to protect Southern Metro people against unscrupulous individuals,” said Macaraeg.
