New places to try!
Thanks to TPLEX (Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway), going to Baguio is not as bad as it was before. And now that the alert level has gone down in most places, especially in Baguio, it's about time we enjoy the cool breeze in the country's summer capital.
Mirador Heritage and Eco Spirituality Park
For more of us, it's been two years since we stepped foot. So, the question is—what are the new spots to check out? Here are some that are worth visiting
1. Mirador Heritage and Eco-Spirituality Park
Located at Mirador Hill going to Lourdes Grotto, one may opt to drive via your own private car or take a jeepney or taxi going to Barangay Dominica-Mirador. With over five hectares, get to enjoy the majestic view of Baguio. Don't forget to go down to check out Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Entrance fee is P100 only, and free for 12 years old and below. 2. Paintball Republic
Not many know about this place, and as the name implies, you and your friends can have some fun paintball battle amid fresh pine trees at a price of P250 per person. But there's more activities in store for both kids and the young at heart. Zipline and rappelling, and airsoft target shooting are also available at P200 per ride/round. Check their facebook page for more information.
Here's an insider tip: Spend P1,000 on printed photos that their staff took, and you can transfer all the photos they took of you and your group to your phone (bring a cable) or your flash drive.
3. Cantina
The sister company of The Barn restaurant, which is right beside it, Cantina is a feast for the eyes as it is filled with colorful and blast-from-the-past toys that will delight both adults and kids. But that's just the teaser of what's in store when you enjoy their flavorful dishes with an amazing view. Tip: best to book in the afternoon so you can enjoy the wonderful sunset view.
4. 113 Wagner Café
Put up by Techie Pantaleon, she transformed her garden into a by-reservations-only restaurant. Still on soft opening, as it states on their Instagram profile page, 113 Wagner Café offers three sets of menu to choose from. A must-try are their steaks!
5. Bamboo Sanctuary in St. Francis Xavier Seminary Bamboo Educational Demo Farm
Since we can't fly to Japan just yet, we might as well enjoy the bamboo sanctuary in Baguio. Dubbed as Little Kyoto in Baguio, there is no entrance fee but you can also choose to donate so the seminarians can take better care of the place. It's another peaceful place to enjoy, along with the cool breeze. Definitely hits the spot!
