Local politics heating up in Padre Burgos town in Quezon

QUEZON – Politics is heating up at Padre Burgos town here after a group of candidates and supporters lodged a complaint with the police after the incumbent mayor allegedly issued threats and ‘unsavory’ words against them when they met along a barangay road on Sunday afternoon.

According to the police, mayoralty candidate Hacket Pasia and municipal councilor Glenny Pensiones, along with other incumbent councilors who are on their team, grounded to a halt on the road somewhere in Barangay Kinagunan Ibaba in Padre Burgos town.

They stopped their convoy, slid down their vehicle’s window to greet incumbent mayor Ruben Uy-Diokno.

What they got instead, according to the police, were ‘unsavory’ words direct from Diokno’s mouth.

Pasia and Pensiones told the police that Dioko made the following utterances directed at them: “Ayusin mo ang mga pananalita mo mga paninira nyo.”

While Diokno was allegedly pointing his finger to Pensiones, the police said that Diokno even told Pensiones ‘Yang bunganga mo ay pasasabugin ko lalo ka nang bata ka.’

After the said confrontation, Diokno approached the other vehicle belonging to Pacia’s convoy where Chrea Villafuerte, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairwoman and Estinido Panganiban, a municipal councilor, were on board.

Based on police report, Diokno went further and uttered the following: ‘Sabihin mo sa mga kasama mo ay wag puro paninira at kayo nga SK ayusin ninyo kita nyo ung DI nyo wala na.’

Diokno then told to Panganiban ‘pagsabihan mo ang mga kasama mo at baka manoo.’

Diokno denied the alleged threat and said he is willing to face it.
