Baybay City councilor Mark Unlu-cay said a search and rescue operation was still going on.

“The rain remained heavy here in the City of Baybay. We strongly encourage everyone to please be alert and report any circumstances for immediate response," said Mark Unlu-cay.

The councilor nevertheless ensured that the City Government of Baybay has been at the thick of things, monitoring the situation for needed response to all the reports the city government would receive, including the evacuation of their residents near the coastal areas.

Meanwhile, netizen Diane Salasayo has appealed for help to rescue her family that was trapped in Minahal Kita Native Restaurant in Brgy. Can-ipa of said city.

She said that two rescue teams tried to evacuate them but the strong current of the flood prevented the truck from reaching them.

The son of Visayas State University President Edgardo Tulin is also reported missing.

He was last seen in Brgy. Guadalupe, Baybay City on the beach at around 2:30 p.m.

As of 5 p.m., ‘Agaton’ was moving westward with sustained strength.
