Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa made this guarantee to local folk here Friday, April 8, during a UniTeam grand rally at the Borongan Plaza.

Dela Rosa, a Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) stalwart, represented vice presidential aspirant Mayor Duterte at the event. The other half of UniTeam, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Bongbong Marcos, was on hand.

Taking the mic, the senator relayed to the audience a personal message from Mayor Duterte.

“Sabi niya, 'Sir Bato, kailangan iparating mo doon sa ating mga kababayan sa Eastern Samar ha, na kung ako maging bise presidente, siguraduhin ko na ako’y isang very supportive at very cooperative na bise president sa ating Pangulong Bongbong Marcos (She said, 'Sir Bato, you need to tell our countrymen in Eastern Samar, that if I become the vice president, I will make sure that I'm a very supportive and very cooperative vice president to our President Bongbong),” Dela Rosa told the huge crowd, which braved the strong rains.

"Hindi niya gagayahin yung ginagawa ng Pangalawang Pangulo ngayon (She will not do what the current Vice President is doing now)," he added, causing the crowd to cheer.

The former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief then alluded to current Vice President Robredo, whom he did not name.

"Habang si Pangulong Duterte ay bising-busy sa kanyang ginagawa para gumanda ang pamumuhay ng bawat Pilipino, 'yung kanyang bise president pumunta sa abroad at walang ibang ginawa kung hindi siraan ang ating sariling bayan (While President Duterte is busy working to improve the lives of every Filipino, his vice president went abroad and did nothing but destroy the image of our country)," he claimed.

"Nagsinungaling pa doon sa international community, nagsabi na meron daw crimes against humanity dito sa Pilipinas (She lied to the international community and said that there were crimes against humanity in the Philippines),” Dela Rosa further alleged.

The senator was referring to the issue of extra judicial killings (EJKs), which has been a major talking point for the opposition in the past six years of President's Duterte's administration. President Duterte is Mayor Duterte's father.

Dela Rosa also said that Mayor Duterte would help Marcos address the country's economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Sabi nga ni Mayor Inday Sara, dapat fully supportive sa pangulo ang kanyang bise para maging successful ang ating gobyerno, ang susunod na administrasyon (Like what Inday Sara said, the vice president must be fully supportive of the president in order for the government, the next administration to be successful),” he added.
