Omega Esports ended the playoff aspirations of Bren Esports following its 2-1 victory to keep its own hopes alive in the MPL Philippines Season 9 on Friday, April 8.

Failing to get the full three points and still on the verge of possible defeat against the gallant Bren side, veteran captain Patrick “E2max” Caidic took matters in his own hands as he provided the steady presence in the crucial Game 3 win.
His Cecilion pick dictated the tempo for Omega, providing the poke damage and crowd control to finish with a 1-1-13 KDA while Christian “Raizen” Sumagui stepped up with an 8-1-5 show on the jungle Paquito to lift the the team to a much-needed 17-11 victory in the series clincher.
Omega’s playoff hopes however still hang in the balance despite upping its points total to 15 points on a 5-8 record.
A sweep in this game could have put Omega in a better position as it will only need to take one game against its next opponent Blacklist International to punch its playoff ticket.
Bren however played the spoiler to Omega’s playoff plans as it secured the equalizer after its 20-15 win in Game 2.
Already eliminated after suffering an 11-7 Game 1 defeat, Bren displayed its fighting heart as it hoped to find a good end to its Season 9 campaign.
Saxa on the Ling and Flaptzy on the Dyrroth provided the damage while Super Marco on the rare gold lane Uranus and Pheww on the Angela provided the sustain and protection during team fights to drag Omega to the winner-take-all.
Saxa finished with an 8-4-9 line while Flaptzy had a 5-5-10 showing for Bren.
Omega actually started the series just as planned after taking Game 1 win behind Kelra’s performance on the Harith producing a perfect 4-0-6 line while E2max added a 3-1-6 tally on the new hero Xavier.
With the Game 2 loss, Omega needs to beat Blacklist in order to advance to the next round.
