Fistfight, stabbing lead to man's arrest in Manila

A 19-year-old man was arrested by operatives of the Sta. Ana Police Station 6 after stabbing another during an altercation in Sta.Ana, Manila on Thursday, April 7.

Police identified the victim as Aljay Almanzor, 18, and a resident of Brgy. 871, Pandacan in Manila, while the suspect was identified as Ryan Cariño, 19, a resident of Brgy. 791 in Sta. Ana, Manila.

Police Lt. Col. Orlando Mirando Jr. said that the incident happened at around 9:45 p.m. when Almanzor was about to go home after attending a birthday party. He saw Cariño and confronted him.

The confrontation resulted in a fistfight. Carino suddenly pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim on his right chest.

Bystanders in the area witnessed the incident and immediately reported it to Brgy. 792.

Almanzor was rushed to Sta. Ana Hospital for treatment.

The suspect will be charged with frustrated homicide before the Manila Prosecutor's Office.
