The nanogenarian, Alejandro Duzon, ended up stealing the show. He even received a special mention from the object of his devotion, presidental candidate Bongbong Marcos, during the Ilocano bet's speech past noon Friday, April 8.

Duzon, wearing--of course, a red pole shirt and a red cap--was front and center to people on stage during the rally at Borongan Plaza here. Coupled with the fact that he was a gray-haired man soldeiring through the heavy downpour, he was quite hard to ignore.

Duzon would get this reward once Marcos reached the stage.

"Kailangan natin kilalalin ang VIP (very important person) ng mga Marcos loyalist...si Alejandro Duzon, 95 years old po. Nandito po sa harap, naiipit na dahil sa init ng salubong ninyo, ngunit nandito pa (We need to recognize the VIP of Marcos loyalist...here we have Alejandro Duzon, 95 years old. He's here in front, he's getting pinned because of the warmth of your welcome, yet he's still here)," the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer said.

"Ninety-five years old--and he has been with the Marcoses all that time," said Marcos, son of the former strongman President Ferdinand Marcos.
