UP among world's top universities for arts and humanities


The University of the Philippines (UP) was recognized as one of the world's top universities for Arts and Humanities by the British education company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

UP ranked 260 in Arts and Humanities in the QS World University Rankings by subject 2020, which is an annual list of leading universities in a particular subject.

Meanwhile, the De La Salle University (DLSU) and Ateneo de Manila University placed 323rd and 327th in the same subject areas, respectively.

In other broad subject areas, UP ranked 394 in Life Sciences and Medicine, 214 in Social Science and Management, and 451-500 in Engineering and Technology,

Meanwhile, DLSU and AdMU placed 377th and 393rd, respectively, in Social Sciences and Management.

The ranking covered a total of 51 subjects and "aims to help prospective students identify the world's leading schools in their chosen field in response to high demand for subject-level comparisons."

According to QS, the rankings were buoyed by high scores in the criteria of academic reputation and employer reputation, as well as its citations in published papers.
