BACOLOD CITY -- A man died while his younger brother was wounded after they figured in a road accident in Barangay Dancalan, Ilog, Negros Occidental on Monday.
Killed was Richard Erojo, 25, of Barangay Guiljungan, Cauayan town while his brother Rodel Erojo, 24, of Barangay Guiljungan was wounded.
Capt. Thurslie Castillo, Ilog town police chief, said the accident happened when the brothers who were riding a motorcycle driven by Erojo reportedly overtook a 10-wheeler truck while approaching the curve part of the road.
Castillo said Erolo lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to sideswipe the truck loaded with sugarcane.
Both victims fell on the ground, but the elder Erojo died after he was run over by a truck driven by 29-year-old Jay-ar Alicaway of Barangay Guiljungan.
Castillo said the truck driver was already released from jail, following a settlement between two parties.
