Mommy D joins Manny in Caloocan sortie, asks Pinoys to 'give son a chance'

Reminiscent of how she used to be a "stage mom" for his son during his boxing fights, Dionisia "Mommy D" Pacquiao joined presidential aspirant Senator Manny Pacquiao in his campaign activity in Caloocan City on Wednesday, April 6 to support to her son's election bid.

Mommy D hopped on Pacquiao's motorcade with her daughter-in-law, Jinkee, as they wooed the city residents, even as the local chief executive, Mayor Oca Malapitan, supported the bid of another presidential candidate in Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

It was a rare appearance from Pacquiao's mother in the ongoing campaign. Mommy D said she just happened to be in Manila for her check-up, that's why she was able to join her son's sortie.

"Malaking suporta ang parents sa anak (Parents are a big support to their children)," she said.

Mommy D called on Filipinos "to give Pacquiao a chance" to serve the country "so you will see how he will lead the Philippines".

"Yung mga sinasabi ni Manny totoong totoo 'yan (What Manny has been saying is very true)," Mommy D said, referring to Pacquiao's concern for the poor.

If her son becomes president, Mommy D said she would become his adviser, like how she used to be an adviser in their community in General Santos City.
