Escudero ranks high in provincial senatorial surveys

Senatorial candidate Sorsogon Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero has emerged the second top choice of voters from Pangasinan in the recently held province-wide senatorial survey conducted by a local news organization in Pangasinan.

Escudero gained 64.80 percent of the total number of respondents to the online survey conducted by GO-Pangasinan’s “GO Philippines Poll Survey 22” a non-commissioned survey released every Saturday.

Data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) show there are 2,096,936 registered voters in Pangasinan, including Dagupan City, for the May 9, 2022 voting.

Escudero, who is seeking a Senate comeback in the May polls, has been a consistent top pick by survey respondents from various polls.

The veteran lawmaker earlier placed second in a survey commissioned by Eastern Samar Gov. Ben Evardone within the province.

Also in Laguna, 57 percent of 1,556 respondents surveyed said they would vote for Escudero, landing him in the No. 1 spot.

It can be recalled that just recently, mayors from CALABARZON—Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon)—and Eastern Samar, who belong to the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP), have endorsed Escudero.

Escudero has also been a consistent favorite among schools, based on the various mock polls conducted by various colleges and state universities.

Several party-list groups have also declared their support for Escudero’s Senate return among them are Ang Probinsyano, Ang Kabuhayan, Agimat, An Waray, ARISE, BHW, BTS, Kusog Bikolano, KAPUSO-PM and Uswag Ilonggo.

The 200,000-strong Federation of Free Farmers (FFF), one of the biggest non-government organizations in the country, has also committed to campaign for Escudero.
