Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso inspected the ongoing construction of Binondominium on Monday, April 4.
Binondominium is a 15-story building with a total of 126 units. Each 40-square meter unit will have two bedrooms.
According to the Department of Engineering and Public Works (DEPW), Binondiminium is 89.54 percent complete as of April 1.
Domagoso recalled that it was the realization of one of his campaign promises back in 2019 that he would provide housing for the homeless.
"Onti nalang, hindi na sila magiging iskwater. Masaya ako para sa kanila. May awa ang Diyos, onti-onti (Gradually, they will no longer stay in the slum area. I’m happy for them. God has mercy)," he said during the inspection.
He hoped that the people who benefit from the project will take care of it.
"Iingatan nalang talaga ng tao, pagmamalasakitan nalang nila (People should take care of it)," he said.
On the same day, Domagoso also inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of Manila Science High School.
He was joined by City Engineer Armand Andres and City Architect Ely Balmoris during the inspection.
Manila Science High School is one of the four schools that the city government is redeveloping in line with its vision to uplift the education system in the nation's capital, the Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) said.
According to the data of DEPW, as of April 1, the completion rate of the school is now at 35 percent since its construction began last July.
If elected President, the 47-year-old Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer said that he will address the problems of poverty, hunger, unemployment, inequality and social injustice in the country by providing the basic needs of the people through the efficient and careful management of government resources.
