Chiz Escudero tops La Salle Ozamiz senatorial mock polls

Senatorial candidate Sorsogon Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero has topped the senatorial mock polls conducted by La Salle University Ozamiz with 47 percent of college students saying they would vote for the former senator.

The school’s University Student Government said 1,449 students took part in the “LSU Votes: Philippine Mock Election 2022” which was held from March 23 to 25.

Escudero is the only incumbent governor who is seeking a fresh six-year mandate in the Senate and has been a consistent favorite among student respondents as indicated by surveys and mock elections conducted by various colleges and universities in the country.

The veteran lawmaker was also the top choice for senator among respondents in the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) survey, which is composed of more than 1,525 member-schools.

He is also among the preferred senatorial candidates of students of Mindanao State University (MSU) in its main campus in Marawi City and its satellite campuses in Iligan City and General Santos City.

Escudero also emerged as the top choice of students from Sorsogon State University (SSU), the University of Santo Tomas (UST), and Cagayan State University’s College of Allied Health Sciences in Tuguegarao City.

Among those who endorsed Escudero’s Senate comeback bid are President Duterte and his daughter, vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

The tandems of Senators Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III; Vice President Leni Robredo and Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan; and Senator Manny Pacquiao and Rep. Lito Atienza have adopted Escudero in their senatorial slates.
