Be girl scout-ready, be COVID-19 vaccinated at SM Supermalls!

Calling all girl scouts! It’s time to fulfill our duty to the nation and get vaccinated against COVID-19!

In partnership with the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP), SM Supermalls is targeting to vaccinate over 700,000 GSP members through a nationwide GSP vaccination day starting April 2 in 78 mall vaccination sites.

SM Supermalls, the PH government’s single biggest private entity partner, together with the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) partnered to vaccinate Girl Scouts aged five to 17 and adult members for their booster shots at SM Megamall’s Kids wonderland-themed vaccination site. The event was attended by SM Supermalls Senior VP for Marketing Joaquin San Agustin, SM Supermalls Asst. VP for Operations Ian Mathay, Mandaluyong City Hospital Director Cesar J. Tulaan, and GSP National President Dr. Nina Lim-Yuson.

“This is our commitment to the future women leaders of our nation–to give them a chance to have a safer, better normal. And one of the ways we can do that is through providing them with an accessible and convenient COVID-19 vaccination experience. We encourage all Girl Scout members, parents, and volunteers participating in various GSP activities to join us on April 2 and get vaccinated against COVID-19,” said SM Supermalls President Steven Tan.

Girl Scouts of the Philippines National President Dr. Nina Lim-Yuson expresses the need for children to get vaccinated so they can fulfill their duties of serving their communities.

GSP members ages five to 17, as well as their family and friends who also need to be vaccinated and boosted, are encouraged to get jabbed at the nearest SM mall. Prior to the vaccination day, GSP members must register in their respective local councils. Parents and guardians must also secure copies of any of the following documents: birth certificate, health records, school registration or ID, or baptismal certificate.

McDonald’s, Jollibee, Tom’s World, and Toy Kingdom join hands in making this event all the more special for the Girl Scouts.

And on their vaccination schedule, GSP members must be in their official Girl Scouts uniforms or bring their official ID. They are also advised to have a meal prior to or bring something to snack on while waiting. Younger girl scouts should be accompanied by their parents and to fill out the necessary forms on site.

Current members of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines ages 18 years old and above may avail of free booster shots as well.

“We are honored and grateful for the support that we’re getting from SM Supermalls. We have kept Girl Scouts, its members, and our communities safe– our top and most important priority. And getting them vaccinated is a crucial step for us to be able to fulfill our duty of helping our nation quickly get back on its feet,” said Nina Lim-Yuson, GSP president.

At the vaccination site, the Girl Scouts of the Philippines set up booths with books, uniforms, pins, caps, and many more!

This endeavor with the GSP is SM Supermalls’ most recent partnership with a non-governmental organization to speed up the vaccination rollout in the country. Under this collaboration, SM Supermalls’ pediatric vaccination sites will be opened to accommodate the GSP members, their family members, as well as friends. To date, SM Supermalls has already administered almost 10 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccines in over 71 malls around the country.

Senior members of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines proudly serve as great examples to the young girls by receiving booster shots!
