TIMOTHEE CHALAMET: Seven things you may not know

From doing indie films, Timothée Chalamet has become the biggest star of his generation. 

Known for his iconic character Elio in Luca Guagadnino's "Call Me By Your Name." And Paul Atreides in "Dune." Here's everything you need to know about the Oscar-nominated actor.

  • He is the son of Marc Chalamet and Broadway actress Nicole Flender.  Timothée was born and raised in New York City and spent most of his summer vacation in France.  
  • Being raised and exposed to the world of acting, Timothée and his sister Pauline are not new when it comes to being in front of an audience. The actor went to LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts with Ansel Elgort.  
  • He landed his first acting gig in Law & Order in 2008. After going to Columbia University for a year, Christopher Nolan casts Timothee in his first major role in Interstellar in 2014, where he played alongside Matthew McConaughey. 
  • “I remember seeing it and weeping,” he says, “60% because I was so moved by it, and 40% because I’d thought I was in the movie so much more than I am.”  He said. 
  • He became the youngest nominee for the Best actor Category at the 2013 Academy Awards for his role in Call Me By Your Name. 
  • After making this historic milestone, the actor got big roles from directors like Greta Gerwig, Wes Anderson, Woody Allen, and his recent movie Dune by Denis Villeneuve.
  • The actor has become a success from being a young New Yorker, making his way through high school plays and indie films. Now, he is known as one of the best actors in this generation.
