About 4000 kilos equivalent to 12,000 pieces of milkfish would be grilled during street parties serving as the main highlight of the festival held annually as a show of gratitude to the city's thriving aquaculture, particularly in the bountiful harvest of bangus or milkfish every year.

“I believe that this Bangus Festival is very special dahil ang pulso ng Dagupeño ay maibalik ito sa downtown area para mapakinabangan ng mga kababayan natin,” said Dagupan City Mayor Brian Lim during a press conference Friday.

Mayor Lim added that it’s not only a celebration; it is also a day of economic opportunity for many fellow Dagupeños.

Few years ago about 10,000 fish were cooked on 1000 grills placed along Fernandez Avenue. It was a world record.
