Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, who is running under the ticket of Vice President Leni Robredo, advised their supporters to campaign for Robredo on the ground which is similar to what actresses Angel Locsin and Agot Isidro began doing with other celebrities.
In a video message posted on his official Facebook page on Saturday, April 2, the former Navy officer and an outspoken supporter of Robredo told kakampinks to convince family and friends to vote for the Vice President.
“Ang mapapayo ko sa supporters ni VP Leni ay talagang lumabas kayo sa comfort zones niyo, talagang magkumbinsi kayo ng mga kaibigan ninyo, kamag-anak, mga kasama sa opisina, lahat (What I can advise to supporters of VP Leni is really to go out of your comfort zones, to convince your friends, relatives, officemates, all),” he said.
“Dahil talagang mabigat ang laban at dito natin mapapakita kung gaano natin kamahal ‘yung ating bayan (Because the fight is tough and this is the way for us to see how much we love our country),” Trillanes added.
Isidro and Locsin seem to be heeding the call.
Locsin accompanied Robredo and running mate Sen. Francis 'Kiko' Pangilinan on Friday, April 1, in their campaign sortie in Marawi City, a province close to the actress’ heart because of her outreach projects there.
She did house-to-house campaigning and also joined a mini rally there for Robredo and Pangilinan.
On Saturday, April 2, she was also seen in Cayagan de Oro with husband Neil Arce.
She and Arce dropped by the launch of the house-to-house activities of CDO volunteers where she encouraged volunteers to talk with at least 10 people a day to ask them to support Robredo.
On the other hand, Isidro was with Robredo’s campaign manager, former Senator Bam Aquino, at the Dao Public Market in Bohol to campaign in person.
Also on Friday, heartthrob actor Donny Pangilinan, the vice-presidential candidate’s nephew, visited Dumaguete City with his sisters. They also held a talk with youth volunteers there.
Pangilinan posted about his nephew on Facebook.
“Lumabas na si Donny (Donny went out already),” he wrote, referencing some placards earlier in the campaign that asked the senator to invite the actor to their rallies.
“Kasama si Donny Pangilinan sa mga volunteers na kumatok at nakipag-kapwa tao sa Dumaguete para maipanalo ang #GobyernongTapat na mag-aangat ng buhay nating lahat at magbibigay suporta sa mga magsasaka at mangingisda (Donny Pangilinan is included in the volunteers who are knocking and spending time with people in Dumaguete for the victory of #GobyernongTapat that will improve our lives and will give support to our farmers and fisherfolk),” Pangilinan added.
