NAPC inks partnership with PCW to implement multi-stakeholder conference, assess anti-VAWC Act


The National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) and its Women Sectoral Council signed a partnership program with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) as it aims to implement a Multi-stakeholders Conference on Gender and Development and assess the implementation of the anti-Violence against Women and their Children (VAWC) Act.

NAPC, in an advisory, said that the memorandum of agreement (MOA) will be effective until June 30, 2023. It was signed on Wednesday, March 30.

“The project agreement involves the holding of a Multi-Stakeholders Conference on Gender Development and the assessment of the implementation of the anti-VAWC Act,” said NAPC.

Meanwhile, in a separate advisory issued on Tuesday, April 1, NAPC said that it likewise held an orientation on the most common forms of violence against women (VAW).

“As part of the agency’s commitment in the promotion of the rights and welfare of women, conducted an orientation on VAW for the youth community leaders of Barangay Batasan Hills, Bagong Silangan, Commonwealth, and Holy Spirit in Quezon City on March 30,” it said.

Participants of the said orientation were equipped with knowledge on the “common beliefs and forms"of VAW. They were likewise oriented on the laws particular to VAW and were briefed regarding the agencies and support groups in the community related to this matter.
