Team UNDRGRND, Fennel Adversity get outright upper bracket semis berth in WCS PH

Team UNDRGRND and Fennel Adversity both secured an outright upper bracket semifinals berth after emerging as the two best teams at the end of the group stage of the WCS Philippines.

The Team Pacquiao GG-backed squad took the top seed with an 11-3 win-loss while Fennel Adversity and Grindsky Esports had an identical 9-5 record although the former got the semis spot due its better game win-loss record.

Wild Rift Horizon Cup fourth placers Team Secret settled for the fourth seed with an 8-6 slate while RRQ Philippines and Oasis Gaming both had 7-7 records to complete the playoff cast.

Cerebrum and Sunsparks were both eliminated with 4-10 and 1-13 records respectively.

In the upper bracket quarterfinals Team Secret clashes against RRQ with the winner getting the right to challenge Team UNDRGRND. In the other pairing, Grindsky will go up against Oasis Gaming with the better team facing Fennel Adversity next.

The top team at the end of the playoffs will secure ticket to the WCS Championship Playoffs on top of the $30,000 top prize while the second place team gets $25,000 and a spot in the WCS Championship Play-In.

Playoffs starts April 1 and will run until April 10.
