Revenue collection officers authorized to accept cash, check payments for ITR

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has authorized its revenue collection officers (RCOs) nationwide to accept cash and check payments regardless of the amount from taxpayers filing their 2021 income tax return (ITR).
"The check should be made payable to the Bureau of Internal Revenue even without the for your information name and the tax identification number of the taxpayer as previously required," said BIR Commissioner Caesar R. Dulay in an advisory.
The BIR chief also added the check need not indicate the name and the branch of the receiving Authorized Agent Banks (AABs).
Dulay said that for taxpayers required to use, or opt to use the electronic filing and payment system (eFPS) they should file their ITR electronically and pay the corresponding taxes through eFPS-AAB where they are enrolled.
He reminded individual and business taxpayers that they have until April 18 to submit their ITR and pay taxes.
Dulay explained the original April 15 deadline was extended because it falls on Good Friday.
