This after Atty. Vic Rodriguez, spokesman of former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr., maintained his claim that the tax case “is still pending in court and the ownership of the properties in litigation has yet to be settled.”

In a letter to Atty. Basilia T. Ringol, Deputy Clerk of Court and Chief of Office of the SC, Aksyon Demokratiko chairman Ernesto Ramel Jr. requested a certificate of finality on the case, “FERDINAND R. MARCOS II, petitioner, vs. COURT OF APPEALS, THE COMMISSIONER OF THE BUREAU OF INTERNAL REVENUE and HERMINIA D. DE GUZMAN (under) G.R. No. 120880 June 5, 1997.”

“The purpose of the requested Certificate of Finality is to establish that the above-cited case is in fact final and executory and/or entered in the book of entries of judgments,” Ramel said in his March 21 letter which was received on March 22 by the Office of Atty. Ringol.

Ramel also cited Domagoso’s plan to go after the P203 billion Marcos estate tax liabilities and use the proceeds from these tax debts as additional “ayuda” for Filipino families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The party chairman had also earlier hit Rodriguez for claims that the issue on Marcos family’s estate taxes liability was just being used for political purposes only.

Vic Rodriguez once again lied. The estate tax case is long over. The Supreme Court had a final ruling in 1997. The PCGG has humiliated you in their response to our letter and the BIR again charged you on December 2, 2021 to answer our question. The Department of Finance (DOF) just last week also told the BIR to charge your lying boss),”Ramel said in a separate statement on Sunday.

“Pulitika? Stop the rotation and deception, Atty. Vic Rodriguez. All the truth is in front of you and Marcos Jr. Your allegation that this is just politics is full of arrogance and pride),” Ramel said.
