SULTAN KUDARAT--Presidential bet Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. gave President Duterte a special birthday greeting during the UniTeam grand rally here.
The grand rally of the administration ticket was held in the Provincial Capitol grounds in Sultan Kudarat on Monday, March 28, President Duterte's 77th birthday.
Marcos urged the crowd to sing the President a happy birthday.
"Minamahal naming Pangulo, happy birthday po. Kami ang buong madla ay nagpapasalamat sayo sa lahat ng iyong ginawa para sa aming minamahal na Pilipinas (To our beloved President, happy birthday. We thank you for what you've done for our beloved country)," Marcos said during the rally.
"Alam po namin ang sakripisyong pinagdaanan ninyo, alam po namin ang lahat ng ginawa ninyo dahil sa pagmamahal sa taong bayan. Hindi po mababawi sa daming panahon ang inyong ginawa. Maraming salamat Mr. President at maligayang kaarawan, PRRD (We know the sacrifices you've made, all you've done out of love for the people of this country. What you've done during your time will not be undone. Thank you and happy birthday PRRD)," he expounded.
The Palace hopeful from Ilocos Norte then underscored the importance of the family alliance between the Marcoses and the Dutertes of the south.
"Alam po natin na sa lahat sa iba't ibang kandidato kami lang po ni Inday Sara ay nasa panig ng ating minamahal na pangulo (We know that among all the presidential candidates, only Inday Sara and I are on the same side as our beloved president)," Marcos said.
"Dito sa Sultan Kudarat, hanggang sa Maguindanao, dito nagkabuo-buo na ang pagkakaisa dahil po sa family alliance na nangyari sa ng mga malalaking pamilya. Nakikita po na nauunlad ang ating bansa (Here in Sultan Kudarat all the way to Maguindanao, this is where unity is formed through the family alliance that happened between these big-name families. We will see progress in our country)," he said, referring to the Marcos-Duterte alliance.
He even described his alliance with presidential daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte as a "good example" of the UniTeam's platform of "unity" being manifested.
"Kaya lagi naming ipinagmamalaki na ang tambalang Marcos tsaka Duterte, napakagandang simbolo at halimbawa dahil kung ang kagaya ko po na galing Ilocos Norte, ay kayang magsama kay Inday Sara na galing Davao... ay kami po ay kayang magsama, siguro naman kaya nating ipagkaisa ang mga Pilipino (That is why we are proud of the Marcos-Duterte alliance. It is a good symbol and example because if someone like me from Ilocos Norte can get along with Inday Sara from Davao, maybe we can unite all Filipinos)," Marcos explained.
Marcos is running for president alongside running mate and presidential daughter Duterte in the 2022 polls.
