Renejay shines as NXPE snaps four-game skid at expense of Bren

Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcase helped Nexplay Evos snap its four-game losing skid at the expense of Bren Esports, 2-0, in the MPL Philippines Season 9 on Sunday, March 27.

RENEJAY, since transitioning to the tank role this season, finally got his hands on his signature Chou pick as he gave NXPE the much-needed lift to end the losing spell and strengthen its playoff bid.

The veteran player unloaded a 1-3-9 KDA in Game 1 before following it up with a solid 2-1-11 line in the series clinching game all while providing the perfect initiations for his teammates. He also rekindled the connection between him and John Paul “H2wo” Salonga who made a statement with a stellar showing on jungle Paquito picks in the sweep.

H2wo, who was under fire by critics during the NXPE’s slump, exploded with a neat 7-0-3 tally Game 1 and a 3-3-10 KDA on Game 2.

The duo also powered NXPE in the crucial clashes of the games, the first one on the clash for the 13-minute Lord in Game 1 when H2wo secured the major objective before going for the Bren heroes to score for a triple kill.

NXPE then continued to dominate the clash, thanks to the perfect zoning and positioning of Jeniel “Yellyhaze” Bata-Anon’s Yve. Haze who finished with a 5-1-11 line in Game 1 was huge factor in the deciding clash when NXPE scored a four-man wipe of Bren to take the first point of the series via a dominant 19-6 win.

It was the same story in Game 2 as this time it was Mariusz “Donut” Tan who spearheaded the attack for NXPE. With Ureshii’s Hylos and Renejay’s Chou providing the protection, Donut safely dished out the damage from the distance, even scoring a triple kill in a clash for the 10-minute Lord, to finish with an impressive 9-0-6 line on the Clint.

It was all NXPE from that point as an early pick-off on Lord Malikk’s Ling in a clash for the 17-minute Lord shut down any hopes of comeback for Bren.

NXPE took out three heroes from Bren leaving with only two heroes to defend the base against the Lord and a complete five-man NXPE crew

NXPE climbed its way back to the middle of the standings at the fourth spot with 16 points on a 5-6 record. Bren, still lags behind with a 3-8 record and eight points on the board although the M2 World Champion still have a clear shot at making it to the playoffs.
