San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora and his Team Makabagong San Juan staged on Friday night, March 25, their proclamation rally for the upcoming May 2022 elections.
The Zamora-led team visited Santuario del Sto. Cristo to hear a Mass prior to their parade and proclamation rally held at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
They were then greeted by San Juaneños who patiently waited for them to join their parade going to the rally site.
TV personalities Archie Alemania and Dianne Medina, who served as hosts of the event, lift up the spirits of the audience.
Toni Gonzaga, Sunshine Cruz, and Zamora's daughter Amanda, together with Quincy Villanueva and Gail Banawis, also entertained the crowd with their performances.
Meanwhile, presidential aspirant Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte, gave their messages expressing their appreciation to the support of San Juaneños and Team Makabagong San Juan.
Marcos' sister, Senator Imee Marcos, also attended the event wherein she shared some facts about the history of the Marcoses and San Juan, and gave some kind words for Zamora and his team.
Former Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Gringo Honasan also graced the program.
He cited the projects accomplished by the DICT in partnership with San Juan City government, such as the distribution of tablets, laptops and pocket Wi-Fi gadgets to city’s K-12 public school students for their online learning classes during the pandemic; choosing San Juan as pilot city for its “WiFi For All Program"; making Pinaglabanan Elementary School as its pilot school for distance learning and providing laptops for its Grade 3-6 students.
DICT had also chosen San Juan as its pilot city for the Vaccine Information Management System Immunization Registry (VIMS-IR), the country’s primary immunization registry that streamlines the vaccine registration process.
Members of Team Makabagong San Juan later presented their platforms and projects that will ensure continuous progress in the city amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The mayor then urged his constituents to vote for Team Makabagong San Juan as he assured them that he will continue to create more programs that will benefit more San Juaneños today and beyond.
Team Makabagong San Juan is composed of incumbent Mayor Zamora, Vice Mayor Warren Villa, Atty. Bel Zamora for congresswoman, Angelo Agcaoili, Paul Artadi, Raissa Laurel, Ryan Llanos Dee, Ervic Vijandre, and James Yap for councilors in District 1.
The team's slate for District 2 is composed of Don Allado, Totoy Bernando, Bea de Guzman, Macky Mathay, Kit Peralta, and Franco Tañada-Yam for councilors.
