RSG PH keeps streak going in Kousei, Kenji return to main five

RSG Philippines activated two new faces in its main five and still got the same dominant 2-0 outcome, this time against Bren Esports in the MPL Philippines Season 9 on Saturday, March 25.

Veteran Kenneth “Kenji” Villa showed that he can still compete against the younger players this season while Clarense “Kousei” Camillo put up a solid performance in his first game in RSG uniform to help their squad stretch its hot streak to four games.

It was Dylan “Light” Catipon who enabled the sweep with perfect initiations on his Franco and Khufra picks in Games 1 and 2 respectively to carry RSG to the No. 2 spot in the standings with 19 points on a 7-2 win-loss slate.

RSG PH broke away from a tight early game in the series opener behind the timely pick-offs initiated by Light’s accurate iron hooks.

Light landed two crucial hooks which turned the tides to RSG’s favor – the first on Pheww’s Selena to deny Saxa’s Ling of his purple buff in time for the first Lord take and second on Flap’s Emeralda after securing the Lord to weaken Bren’s defenses.

RSG steamrolled from that point as it scored a wipeout on Bren in the second Lord dance highlighted by a triple kill from Kenji’s Dyrroth to end Game 1, 15-5.

Light finished with a 0-2-8 KDA while Kousei converted most of his hooks into kills to finish with an impeccable 7-0-3 KDA on the Beatrix.

The same story ran in the second game as it was Light’s perfect setups that allowed RSG to seize control of the game.

A huge Tyrant’s Revenge-Tyrant’s Rage combo in the top lane caught three Bren heroes to which Demonkite’s Ling and Kousei’s Beatrix converted into pick offs and objective takes.

Light repeated the same play this time catching two Bren heroes during its base defense, initiating the final clash to end the series with a 9-5 score.

Kenji took the MVP honors with a 0-1-5 KDA on his EXP lane Hylos as he provided the early game disruption to Saxa’s jungling pattern on the signature Lancelot. Light unloaded a 1-0-7 line on the Khufra while Kouse collected a 7-3-2 tally.

Bren absorbed another loss, now with a 2-7 record and five points on the board as it slowly loses grip of its playoff chances.
