About 1,061 students and alumni of Ateneo Law School backed the candidacies of Vice President Leni Robredo and runningmate Senator Kiko Pangilinan.

In a statement released Tuesday, March 22, the signatories affirmed that Robredo and Pangilinan are "the ones best fit for the Presidency and Vice Presidency."
"As one of the bright lights in one of our nation's darkest hours, Leni Robredo exemplifies competence, honesty, justice, compassion, and leadership. In the most difficult times, Leni Robredo shows up. She faces the people and addresses them with her concrete plans, platforms, and course action," they said.
"The same can be said of Kiko Pangilinan. As lawyers and legislators, they are both knowledgeable and capable of directing the country towards the goals we, as Filipinos, seek to achieve as a nation," they added.
The signatories also honored Ateneo Law School alumni Evelio Javier and Bobby Gana who became freedom fighters during the Martial Law years.
"To honor the sacrifices made by those who died fighting to end the dictatorship, we must vote for a President and Vice President who give hope to the nation through concrete plans and a genuine heart to serve."
Honest and good governance
Meanwhile, alumni, students, and former faculty members of Manila Science High School likewise endorsed Robredo and Pangilinan, citing the tandem's brand of "honest and good governance."
"We need competent, patriotic leaders like Leni Robredo and Kiko Pangilinan who genuinely work for the best interest of the country, and not just the political and economic elite," the signatories said.
"We believe that the only way we can move forward is by demanding a transparent, compassionate, inclusive government that upholds the rule of law," they added.
They also urged the voting public to elect leaders who believe in science and listen to experts amid the rising fuel prices and global health crisis.
The signatories likewise slammed the proliferation of misinformation and disinformation, as well as historical revisionism.
"Apart from the economic problems that we are facing, we are also in the midst of a war for truth. For decades, malicious actors have worked tirelessly to revise history in favor of our oppressors," they lamented.
"We refuse to let anyone rob us of the opportunity to tell our children the story of EDSA, the vibrancy of our democracy, and the courage of the Filipino people."
