Police arrested 10 individuals for illegal drugs worth P355,300 in different anti-criminality operations in Taguig on March 21 and 22.
At about 3 a.m. on March 21, the Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a buy-bust operation on Cagayan De Oro Street, Barangay Maharlika Village, Taguig.
Arrested was Biollah Midtimbang, 36. Seized from him were seven plastic sachets containing shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 15 grams with an estimated value of P102,000 and P500 buy-bust money.
At the corner of Marawi Avenue and IRM Road in Barangay Maharlika Village, the Taguig police’s Sub-Station 7 conducted a Simultaneous Anti Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) that resulted in the arrest of suspect Abdul Salik, 43, for possession of suspected shabu.
The police seized one plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing 25.45 grams with a value of P173,060.
On March 21, the Taguig police’s Sub-Station 1 conducted “Oplan Galugad” in Block 8, Zone 2, in Barangay Fort Bonifacio when they saw suspects Joey Tabada, 42, and Rachel Pahimnayan, 40, in possession of seven plastic sachets containing suspected 2.9 grams of shabu valued at P19,720.
On the same day, elements from Taguig police’s Sub-Station 4 and PHMI Force Multipliers were conducting an anti-criminality operation along Ilang-Ilang Street in Barangay Ususan when they caught two suspects in possession of suspected illegal drugs.
They were identified as Joan Placido, 42, and Norvie Marcelino, 43. Seized from them were two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about two grams with an estimated value of P13,600.
Sub-Station 9, Mobile Patrol Group, and Taguig's Peace and Order Unit conducted an operation along C6 Service Road Ulingan in Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig that resulted in the arrest of suspects Romeo Ranillo, Ranil Ranillo, and Jeffry Bartizo.
Recovered in the operation were three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with a weight of 2.2 grams valued at P14,960.
In Purok 7, Barangay Tanyag, Taguig, the police arrested Jonathan Jove, 32, and recovered two plastic sachets from him containing suspected shabu weighing 4.7 grams with a value of P31,960.
The Taguig police will charge the suspects for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
“I am glad that when it comes to intensified campaign against criminality and illegal drugs, our police are diligent in their duties,” said Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg.
