Presidential aspirant Senator Manny Pacquiao has rejected the claim made by his rival, Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., that corruption is a human condition.
During his campaign in Cavite on Monday, Pacquiao said he will not agree with Marcos Jr. when he said that corruption cannot be stopped.
"Ang pagnanakaw? Normal na lang daw ang pagnanakaw? Grabe naman, hindi sa akin (Robbery? Robbery is normal? It's unbelievable! I don't agree with that)," he said.
Pacquiao also said he could not bear the idea of feeding his family using money that came from corruption.
"Biro mo kaya mo pakainin ang pamilya mo, ninakaw na pera. Mahirap iyon (Can you imagine, you feed your family using a stolen money? It's hard)," he said.
Pacquiao said the only way to stop corruption is to ensure immediate arrest and prosecution of all corrupt officials. He added, it will be his platform of government.
Among the lawmaker's plans should he be elected include building a "mega prison" for corrupt government officials.
"Bigyan ninyo ng anim na taon si Manny Pacquiao... Ipakikita ko sa inyo kung ano ang Godly leadership. Maayos na gobyerno para umunlad tayo (Give Manny Pacquiao six years to serve. I will show you what is a Godly leadership. We need a good government for us to progress)," he said, adding that without corruption, the government can save from P700-billion to P1-trillion a year.
