P1-M reward each awaits anyone who can provide info on America case and seized shabu in Infanta


LUCENA CITY, Quezon -- Quezon Governor Danilo Suarez announced Tuesday that he will give a P1-million reward to anyone who can provide information on the identity of the persons behind the attempt to assassinate Infanta, Quezon Mayor Filipina Grace America.

The statement was made by Suarez before local-based media men in his bid to have the America case resolved at the earliest possible time.

America has been recovering following her release from the hospital.

The investigation is being conducted by the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG-America) formed by the Police Regional Office 4A.

There are two angles that investigators are looking at, including one which has to do with politics and opposition of America on Kaliwa Dam project.

America was ambushed by an unidentified assailant on February 27 at noon after she came from the church. The suspect/s shot her through the windshield of the vehicle she was riding. She sustained four wounds.

Also, P1 million will be offered for providing information on those behind the confiscation of a one and a half-ton of shabu in Infanta town in the operation of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) -National Capital Region.

Suarez commended the operatives involved in the operation as many lives would be saved from possible drug addiction.
