MB Daily News Update: PRRD OKs P500-'ayuda', says P200 wasn't enough
Deeming that the first allocation was “too small” and “cannot sustain” even a family of three, President Duterte jacked up the erstwhile P200-financial assistance or “ayuda” for poor families to P500 to help cushion the effects of increasing fuel costs.
The Chief Executive also signed into law amendments to the Public Service Act that are expected to spur economic recovery because these will encourage investments in sectors essential to public welfare, effectively opening up to 100 percent foreign equity across economic sectors.
Duterte also explained why he gave the go-signal for American forces to use Philippine bases amid the raging conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
Meanwhile, during a Senate hearing, e-sabong operator Atong Ang denied allegations that he could make a ‘sabungero’ disappear for a mere P5,000.
