18 barangays in San Juan declared Covid-19 free

The San Juan City local government reported on Sunday, March 20, that 18 out of its 21 barangays have been declared Covid-19 free as the city continues to see a decline in Covid-19 cases.

According to San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, barangay Addition Hills, Rivera, and Salapan each tallied one active Covid-19 case. The city has also recorded 20,890 recoveries and 363 deaths.

Zamora said that the continuous decline in cases can be attributed to San Juan's aggressive Covid-19 response efforts and proactive vaccination program. He also emphasized that the vaccines work in preventing critical Covid-19 and hospitalization, hence, the low hospital utilization rate of San Juan.

On March 4, San Juan City opened two drive-thru Covid-19 booster shot vaccination sites, as well as other sattelite vaccination areas to further boost the number of people being vaccinated against Covid-19.

The booster shot vaccination drive-thru stations are located at the City Hall Parking and at the Makabagong San Juan Plaza in N. Domingo Street, while its sattelite vaccination areas are located at Agora Public Market, Santolan Town Plaza, at the 2nd Floor of Connecticut Parking, Fountain Area Center Mall, and at the Entrance of VMall near the Chapel of Greenhills Mall.
