P50K reward offered for info on 'budol' suspects in Dasmariñas, Cavite

CAVITE – Dasmariñas Rep. Pidi Barzaga is offering a P50,000-reward for anyone who can provide information that will lead to the arrest of scammers or budol-budol suspects in the city.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, March 20, Barzaga informed his constituents about how a 74-year-old lady was victimized by a budol-budol gang in Salitran.

On March 18, the victim paid her water and cable bills in Zone 4 and while waiting for a jeepney ride, a white Toyota Revo stopped in front of her. A female inside the vehicle told the victim that they know each other and offered her a ride.

Inside the vehicle, the female suspect asked the victim if she had money at home. The victim divulged that she had P70,000 cash set aside to buy a motorcycle for her son. The suspect then showed the victim a ring and a bracelet and told her that they can top up the cash that she had.

Persuaded by the suspects, the victim got her cash at home and handed it over to the suspects. One of the suspects then placed all of the victim's cash in a plastic bag, added more money bills to it, and stuffed the pack inside the victim's bag.

CCTV footage captured a male suspect walking the victim to the other side of the road where she got a tricycle ride home.

When the victim got to her house and opened the plastic bag, she found out that the cash was replaced with a wad of newspaper.

Authorities are now looking for the suspects.
